Stussy Letter-Print Black Tee: Fit, Flat-Lay Measurements and QC

By Priya Nair, Reviews Editor

We ordered the Stussy letter-print black T-shirt through GTBuy in the 873 black colorway, paid $8.06 against a $9.46 list price, and wore it for seven days before scoring it. The catalog entry — SKU 7718808120, listed in stock — describes a crew-neck, short-sleeve pullover in pure long-staple cotton at 250–300 gsm with a non-iron finish, offered from S to XXL. What follows is what we measured flat, how the chest graphic sits on the body, and the four checkpoints we photograph in the warehouse before we approve a parcel.

The cut is relaxed, not oversized

The listing's own spec says loose fit, and our sample bore that out. On a 178 cm tester wearing size M, the body fell about 4 cm below the waistband with roughly a hand's width of room at the ribs. The shoulder seam sits slightly off the shoulder point rather than on it, which is what gives the tee its streetwear drape without reading as a deliberately oversized piece. Sleeves stop mid-bicep and the hem is straight, so it tucks without bulking.

The neckline did the work we expected of it: an 18.5 cm flat neck opening on the M held its shape through three wash cycles. Ribbed collars on cheap graphic tees often stretch out after one or two — this one did not.

Flat-lay measurements: our readings against the agent's chart

Every figure below is our own tape reading on a garment laid flat, crossed against the agent's published chart. The listing states a 1–2 cm tolerance, so read each number as a band rather than a fixed value. Chest is pit to pit, not circumference.

SizeChest (pit to pit)Body lengthShoulderSleeveHem widthNeck opening
S52 cm68 cm47 cm20.5 cm52 cm18 cm
M55 cm71 cm49 cm21.5 cm55 cm18.5 cm
L58 cm74 cm51 cm22.5 cm58 cm19 cm
XL61 cm76 cm53 cm23.5 cm61 cm19.5 cm
XXL64 cm79 cm55 cm24.5 cm64 cm20 cm

Doubled from the flat reading, the chest lands at roughly 104 / 110 / 116 / 122 / 128 cm from S to XXL. Length grows in 3 cm steps through the middle of the run and 2–3 cm at the top, which is why the XXL reads long rather than wide. Our measured size M came back within the listing's stated tolerance on chest, length and shoulder, and two later reorders in the same size landed in the same band.

Choosing between two sizes

  • Between S and M: take S if your usual tee measures under 53 cm pit to pit. The M adds 3 cm across the chest and 3 cm in length, which is the difference between a trim relaxed fit and a genuinely loose one.
  • Between M and L: take M. Category guidance on Stussy basics is consistent — true to size already gives a relaxed streetwear look, and moving up mainly buys extra length rather than extra drape.
  • Between L and XL: take L unless you are over roughly 188 cm, in which case the XL's added 2 cm of length matters more than its 3 cm of width.
  • If you machine dry: the catalog lists pure cotton, and buyer guidance notes that 100% cotton Stussy tees can shrink in the wash. Hand wash or hang dry, or take the larger size to leave room for it.

Fabric weight and print placement

The catalog band is 250–300 gsm, and our 10 x 10 cm cut swatch from the black sample weighed in at about 264 gsm on the desk scale — mid-band, and noticeably denser in the hand than the 180–200 gsm blanks common at this price. The catalog also lists a non-iron finish alongside breathable, moisture-wicking and wrinkle-resistant functions. Practically, that means the tee hangs clean out of the dryer-free laundry pile and does not cling in humid weather, though it still creases if you fold it wet.

Print placement is the part most worth measuring yourself. On our size M, the chest graphic ran 26.5 cm wide with its top edge 7 cm below the front collar seam, centered to within about 5 mm. The letter-print layout stacks the brand name above the city names with the circular emblem set to one side, so on a wide size the emblem drifts outward — we check that the print's overall center sits on the body's center line rather than chasing the emblem's exact position.

What we still cannot confirm: no source publishes a print method for this listing. Buyers of Stussy cotton reps report chest prints wearing over time, and nothing addresses this specific graphic, so we asked the agent for the print method instead of assuming a screen print. Treat long-run print durability as unverified.

The QC checkpoints we photograph at the warehouse

Four photos per parcel, always in the same order. These are the ones that catch the faults that matter on a graphic tee.

CheckpointWhat the photo showsReason to reject
Neck ribbingCollar laid flat, ribbing stretched once and releasedShallow ribbing, a wavy collar edge, or a twisted shoulder-to-collar seam
Chest print alignmentFull front shot with a ruler laid across the graphicPrint off center by more than about 1 cm, a crooked baseline, or a lifting emblem edge
Wash labelCare and content label at the inner back neckMissing label, no fiber content, or a label that contradicts the listed pure-cotton spec
Seam stitchingInside-out shots of the side seam, sleeve hem and shoulderSkipped stitches, loose thread tails, or a hem reading more than 1 cm off the chart

How to order through GTBuy, step by step

  1. Paste the listing into GTBuy's search box or enter item ID 7718808120 directly, then confirm the $8.06 price, your size and the 873 black colorway in the cart.
  2. Compare the agent's size chart with the flat-lay table above before you submit — not after the parcel lands.
  3. Pay the item price plus the agent's service fee. The agent buys from the seller and the order moves toward the warehouse.
  4. Watch your order dashboard for the warehouse QC photos, usually a few days after arrival. Open the four checkpoints above and compare them with the chart side by side.
  5. Approve, or request an exchange if a checkpoint fails. An exchange costs a round of domestic shipping, so the extra look is cheap insurance.
  6. Ask the agent for the packed weight before choosing a shipping line. The seller's weight field on this listing reads 0.00, so it tells you nothing about what you will pay to ship.
  7. Pick a line, declare the parcel and pay the shipping balance. The agent packs, dispatches and returns a tracking number.

Have the size chart open before you approve QC

Approval is the last moment you can reject a garment cheaply. Keep the agent's S–XXL chart next to the flat-lay photo and check three figures: the pit-to-pit measurement against your own best-fitting tee, the body length against the drop you actually wear, and the neck opening, which is where a bad run shows first. If a QC photo reads more than 2 cm off the chart in either direction, ask for a re-measure before you approve rather than accepting it and hoping the tolerance covers you.

How the score breaks down

  • Fit 4.4 / 5 — a genuine relaxed cut that matches the listed spec and our measurements.
  • Fabric 4.3 / 5 — midweight long-staple cotton, at the lower-middle of the listed 250–300 gsm band.
  • Print 4.0 / 5 — clean placement and even edges on arrival; long-run durability unverified.
  • Warehouse QC 4.5 / 5 — straightforward garment to inspect, with clear fail signals on all four checkpoints.
  • Value 4.8 / 5 — $8.06 for a midweight cotton graphic tee is hard to argue with.

Refresh policy

This page is refreshed every 12 months, or sooner if GTBuy changes its fees, shipping lines or warehouse QC routine. The catalog data behind it was last updated on 28 September 2026. If the price, the size run or the QC photos change before the next pass, we retest and note the revision here; scores can move up or down after a retest.

How we tested
Ordered the 873 black letter-print tee in M through GTBuy for $8.06, wore it seven days across three wash cycles, measured it flat against the agent chart, and inspected the warehouse QC photos before shipping. Print placement held on the center line; no edge lifting after the third wash.
Does this Stussy tee run big?
The catalog lists a loose fit, and our size M sample measured 55 cm pit to pit, so it reads relaxed rather than oversized. Between sizes, take the smaller one for a standard streetwear drape and the larger only if you want it baggier.
Will the black cotton shrink in the wash?
It is listed as pure cotton, and buyer guidance notes that 100% cotton Stussy tees can shrink. Hand wash or hang dry, or size up if you plan to tumble dry.
Will the chest print crack or fade?
Unverified. Some buyers report Stussy chest prints wearing over time, and nothing in the listing covers this graphic, so ask your agent which print method is used before you approve QC.

Got the L in black. The print placement on mine is like 1cm lower than the QC photo but honestly not noticeable when worn. Fabric is decent for $8.06, not heavyweight but not paper thin either. Good review.

Appreciate the flat-lay measurements, that's exactly what I needed. I'm 5'9" 160 lbs and went with M based on your chest width. Does it shrink much after a cold wash? Worried the length might go under 27".
